Let’s be nomads…Comme des Garçons Homme Plus AW22

a la une, Fashion

It is hard to say it better than the show notes:

“Nowadays if you want to know anything, you can get as much information as you want from the internet and it’s an experience. But still I can’t be satisfied.

I yearn after a nomadic life where you can truly live freely by yourself, not flocking together, not belonging anywahere. It is enviable.

The collection this time is nomad.”

Because of COVID the team is not yet ready to bring the collection to Paris. CdG Homme Plus staged the Nomad collection in their showroom in a dark room between panels of discarded wood with a sound track by DJ Edmond Huszar, aka Overwerk. Various textured materials were used such as fluff and patchwork  fabrics which were pieced together to form vertical stripes. The season’s jackets features one small front button on the collar and six on the waist. Other jackets have three buttons, long shirts drop to the knees and the silhouette is relaxed with many bright coloured looks just grazing the knee, like a loose fitting dress. Classic tailoring is both respected and destroyed. Accessories include top hats with the white letters of “Nomad”.

George Cox x CdG Homme Plus work together on 2 iconic shoes of the British subculture:

Double-strap sandal and Oxford shoes, originally designed by legendary British shoe-designer John Moore, both updated to the thickest Vl creeper sole.
