The world-renowned Festival de Cannes has announced that Martin Scorsese will present his new feature film, Killers of the Flower Moon, in a world premiere with Apple Original Films. This event marks the return of the celebrated filmmaker to the Official Selection for the first time since his presentation of After Hours in 1986.

Based on David Grann’s best-selling book, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and portrays the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation. These brutal crimes were later known as the “Reign of Terror”. Martin Scorsese and Eric Roth wrote the screenplay for the film.
Martin Scorsese has dedicated his life to cinema. In 1976, he won the prestigious Palme d’Or with his film Taxi Driver, which was presented in competition. He also won the Best Director’s Award for After Hours ten years after his success with Taxi Driver.
In 1998, he was the President of the Jury that presented the Palme d’Or to Greek director Theo Angelopoulos for Eternity and a Day. Four years later, he chaired the Jury for the Cinéfondation and Short Films alongside Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami.
Since 1990, Martin Scorsese has directed The Film Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the protection and preservation of the world’s motion picture history. He has represented numerous films at Cannes Classics in this capacity.
