“Passions overwhelm you, but they are transient. An obsession accompanies you throughout your life. It urges you to refine your talent and forces you to come to terms with our essence every day. When something obsesses us, we never feel that we have achieved a goal because obsession immediately sets another, more challenging goal, pushing us to dare more and more. My obsession is the pursuit of absolute aesthetic beauty of the Carnival, and Il Ballo del Doge is its most concrete expression. For this reason, and also because I am convinced that the persistence of constructive obsessions is a value to be preserved in times when everything is moving so fast, this year I decided to unveil it and tell it to my guests with Carnival Obsession“

“I consider Il Ballo del Doge my work of art in progress: on the surface, it may appear merely worldly and ephemeral – we work for an entire year to create a gala show that lasts only one night – but deep down, it tells one of the most rooted traditions of my culture, that of the Venetian Carnival. Working onIl Ballo del Doge is a way to keep our tradition alive and continue to narrate the mischievous, seductive, and refined essence of my beloved city, Venice”
