“Identity” exposition by Stéfanie Renoma

Through her photographic and audiovisual exhibition “Identity,” staged by Alexandre Donzé Solis, Stéphanie Renoma, an unconventional and atypical artist, explores the concept of identity with the body.

The exhibition presents the body in various representations, spanning from masculinity to femininity, including non-binary and non-gendered aspects, highlighting the different facets of gender identity. The body is also explored in states such as nudity, hormonal transformation, and tension, providing a complex glimpse into the human experience.

What is particularly interesting is that despite apparent nudity and erotic tension, the body is desexualized, seemingly emphasizing the inherent authenticity and vulnerability of human nature.

At the core of this exhibition are artists, performers, and individuals who embody unconventional life journeys and challenge societal norms. Stéfanie Renoma uses their bodies as raw material to create a dual identity, a metamorphosis elevated by luxurious and glamorous scenography. This fusion of rock ‘n’ roll and disarticulated chic appears to be the artist’s trademark.

The exhibition is complemented by short films that narrate various stories and provide insights into Stéfanie Renoma‘s creative process. Portraits of artists such as La Big Bertha, Romain Brau, Esther Houdement, Megane Lemiel, Elsa Oesinger, Andrea Offredi, and Raphaël Say seem to be at the heart of this celebration of identity.

Furthermore, the exhibition actively invites spectators to participate by offering performances and photography sessions that encourage them to shed mental and physical burdens and engage in the artistic project surrounding identity. Documentaries about Stéfanie Renoma‘s life and creative process also offer an immersive glimpse into her artistic world. On this occasion, she presents a solo show in collaboration with Philippe Guedon, the director of Normal Magazine and the director of the short films, immersing viewers in her creative world.

Lastly, it is worth noting the support of Playboy TV Europe for this project, which seems aligned with the exploration of the beauty of the body, eroticism, and the diversity of sexualities. This three-year collaboration between Stéfanie Renoma and the channel is therefore a key element of the exhibition, highlighting their partnership in this artistic exploration of identity through the body.
