Via di Montoro, 10, Rome
5-8 PM

Artist and performer Lucrezia Testa Iannilli invites you to her open studio inside LD Studio’s space-materioteca, dedicated to custom interior design and architectural projects. A new, innovative space where Krei, a company partnering with architects and designers, offers “tailored” solutions and services in the world of marble, terracotta, continuous surfaces, mosaics, and decorative systems.

Visitors will experience the artist’s vision on two levels. As part of the KREI for arts project, there is an experimental journey around materials: Lucrezia Testa Iannilli explores the primordial force of bucchero, a uniformly black ceramic used by the Etruscan civilization, which is now of great fascination in architecture, immortalized in a large-scale meta-mythical artwork framing the exterior of the Roman showroom.

The visitor is then immersed in the installation Unearthed – New Gods Era, signed by the photographer and performer, accompanied by a specially composed audio track by the singer-songwriter Pit Coccato.

“Can we still speak of the human being, and if so, are we sure we know whom or what we are talking about? For about a decade, Lucrezia Testa Iannilli has been questioning the conservative and evolutionary state of anthropos; a creature that, since its appearance on earth, has been able to manipulate the environment and itself like no other natural agent.
In a world where existence is now conceived only in its future dimension (we have largely betrayed the hic et nunc with a promise of post-human immortality), are we sure that we will recognize ourselves in our new human forms?
Unearthed – new gods is a work that retraces a decade of research between archive images and shots from the current year, presenting itself to the observer with the clarity of reportage and the poetry of creative vision.”

BioLucrezia Testa Iannilli
A photographer and performer based in Tuscania, in the Tuscia area of Viterbo, she works with interdisciplinary tools. She defines her research practice processes through installations and cycles of performances in decontextualized spaces, using the human and animal body to create cognitive dissonances. Her series of works draws inspiration from reflections on ethical innovation, starting from the observation of the already bionic post-human, courageously anticipating future visions. She is currently working on her long-term project “Una Pura Formalità,” reaffirming the concept of becoming a channel; an evocative and transversal investigation of the weaknesses and critical aspects of the artistic sector, particularly regarding the relational sphere, the poetics of recommendation, and the concept of meta-mythology associated with post-human bureaucracy.

Krei, a company partnering with architects and designers, offers tailored solutions and services in the world of marble, terracotta, continuous surfaces, mosaics, and decorative systems. Within this framework, Krei for Arts emerges as an experimental project aimed at “exploding” materials traditionally used in architecture, revealing their tormented, passionate, dark, and surprising soul, pushing beyond the usual aesthetic and functional standards. The contamination of languages and techniques generates wonder: a synergy that translates into unique artistic initiatives under the direction of Lucrezia Testa Iannilli. Each personality involved will have the opportunity to freely interpret a material with their own perspective, giving life to works, objects, performances, video art, installations, and photographs, with their own sensitivity.
